Use the look around feature in Apple Maps to view a particular city as if you were on the street.

A great new feature built directly into Apple Maps is the ability to "look around" a particular city as if you were on the street.

This can be accessed by choosing the city (in the example below I used New York City). Then select look around. You can then look around the city and use the binoculars to put yourself at a particular place. To see the binoculars select the 2 arrows going diagonally to see a map as well.
