Can't edit a photo in Google Photos? Maybe this is why.

Earlier today my dad called because he could not edit a photo in Google Photos. After a bit of investigating it turned out that he was trying to edit a photo that was in a shared album.

The trick to edit the photo is simply this:

• select the photo
• in the upper right select the info icon and see when the photo was taken (important for a future step)
• select Save (the photo will now be in your own library)
• go to the date the photo was taken
• select the photo and now look for the edit icon and edit as you see fit
