For years Quizlet has enabled users to study for quizzes/tests by being able to review using flashcards. I know when I taught 4th grade my students loved being able to review the important vocab terms for a quiz or test. Over the years Quizlet has evolved into having matching games, learning games, etc.
Now Quizlet has Quizlet Plus that uses AI to create flashcards/an outline, sample essay questions, and an AI tutor all from your notes, slides, docs. It is created in less than a minute.
Speaking from experience with my daughter who is in 9th grade - this has been such an amazing tool for her. She can upload her notes from Google Docs and instantly have her review terms ready to go.
Quizlet Plus also has the ability to help students with an essay starter, a summary of notes as well as the ability to get expert solutions.

Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool. Use it to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, logos and more.

What is great is that you can have your students join your class as well. You need to select Invite members (see image below).

Diffit for Teachers is an incredible tool that allows you to get resources on any topic or lesson and adapt any existing materials for any reader and export and share as student activities.
As you can see in the image below, you can search for a topic theme or question, paste in an article or video url, as well as paste in any text or excerpt. You can then choose an approximate reading level and language.
Once you generate the resources you will then be presented with the adapter reading passage, summary, key vocabulary, multiple choice questions, short answers, and open-ended prompts.
Please also note that you can export and share, This opens up a whole new section where you are presented with tons of resources which can be exported.

If you open the Google Doc (as well as in the tutorial I created) you will see the Brisk extension come up and the image you see below. In this example, try to Give Feedback. You will be presented with a Glow, a Grow, and a Wondering (once you state what you would like the feedback to focus on). Each option will allow you to copy and place where needed.
In this next option (with a Google Doc) you will be writing with Brisk. Here you will see options to write a lesson plan, quiz, exemplar, etc. Once created you will see further options that allow you to translate, make more/less difficult, etc.
You can also open a student's work and choose to Detect AI Writing. If you see the image below you will notice a slide that shows you how likely or unlikely it is.
Finally, the one that instantly made me a fan of Brisk is the option when you open a document/site and choose the extension. You will be presented with the approximate reading level and the option to change the reading level as well as to translate the article. You will then open up a Google Doc with a link to the original article and the adjusted article to the grade level of your choice.

If you use Typingclub.com (which is an amazing resource) there is the possibility that a student either missed the first day you introduced it or the student is new to your school.
If this is the case, simply enter into typingclub.com and if you use Google Classroom or Clever, simply select the icon (in this example we used Google Classroom). It then will populate all your classes and you will see the one you imported for this classroom. Make sure to choose re-sync (it is blue) and the student should be added.

A great new feature built into Google Drive is the ability to quickly lock a File. While you as an editor can lock a file, please note that it can be unlocked by any editor. However, prior to editing, they will see that the file is locked and will need to select a lock and unlock it.
This is a great feature as I know many of us remember creating files and sharing with others only to find out down the line that someone edited the file to an extent that made it unusable. Then you would need to go into version history, etc. I remember a ton of conversations with people being upset about others editing their files.
So, how can you lock a file, it is really quite simple.
Choose right-click on a file in Drive, choose "File Information", and choose "Lock". Of course you can do the same to unlock. You can also unlock the file by choosing unlock in the file itself.

Ever been working with your class / student / or your own children and they just don't seem to be getting the topic you are working with them on? Recently my 9th grade daughter has had some tests on topics that I have not studied in over 30 years (example - how progressive was Teddy Roosevelt and what was his vision). While there are a few things I remember, I would need to do some research to jog my memory While yes this does work, if there are numerous questions and you would like a way to quickly access the question - try asking chatgpt the question. The tip I have found is to ask it in a way that may give some similes or metaphors - and the way I found is to ask it to explain the topic to a 3rd grader.

Wanted to let you know that the new version in Google Chrome has a bit of a different look to it. The icons look a touch different as well as the ability to see your open tabs and recently closed tabs.
To see if you have the latest version of chrome make sure to select the three dots in the upper right, settings, about Chrome.
The ability to quickly see the recently closed tabs is a great feature. A quick reminder to quickly reopen a closed tab is to select ctrl shift T.

If you have ever had a Google Drive folder shared with you; however, you would like to make a copy of the folder you probably were bummed when you saw there is no option to copy.
While there is no magic button to copy it all, there is a way.
Make sure to choose the download option.
This will create a Zip file.

Make sure you created a folder and save the extracted files to this new folder
Now, go back into Google Drive and upload the folder
