Reported a little over a week ago on Lifehacker there was a data breach that stole data from millions.- Uninstall These Eight Browser Extensions That Stole Data from Millions.
SpeakIt! (with the exclamation point) not to be confused with the extension SpeakIt (without the exclamation point) was one. The moral of the story is to be careful of what extensions you add. Make sure you check with others about extensions, look for reviews, and maybe limit yourself to 5 or 6.
